Full day visit to Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram. The Mahabalipuram ruins, 37 mi/60 km south of the city, date to the seventh century and consist of a cave temple, shore temple, monolithic rathas and bas-reliefs. Kanchipuram includes several temples, among them eighth-century Kailasanatha,
Ekambaranathar and Vaikunta Perumal.

Morning visit to Madras City. Visit the Basilica of San Thome, St. Thomas Mount, and the Church of St. Mary, the oldest Anglican church in India (within the walls of Fort St. George.) Day 04: Chennai - Cochin

Day 05: Cochin
Half-day city tour of Cochin City. Start your tour at the harbor near Vasco da Gama Square, where you can watch fishermen hoisting their catch from the cantilevered Chinese fishing nets that line the shore, then head along Church Road to St. Francis Church. Keep going toward Parade Road (near the Malabar House Residency), making your way to Peter Celli Street to explore a few local shops before you drift down Bastion Street, in the direction of Santa Cruz Cathedral. Day 06: Cochin - Kumarakom
Morning drive to Kumarakom with a backwater cruise from Alleppey to Kumarakom en route. Kumarakom Lake Resort is situated on the edge of Vembanad Lake, in a remote, tranquil location, this is the swankiest of Kumarakom's backwater resorts. Like so many of these resorts, it comprises exquisite tharavadu-style carved teak and rosewood houses with curved terra-cotta tiled roofs, many of them reassembled originals salvaged from Keralan villages.
Day 07: Kumarakom
Enjoy the day at leisure to enjoy the resort’s amenities. In the resort's newest section, a second meandering freshwater pool snakes its way past the private balconies of luxurious cottages -- which means you can swim around the property directly from your back door. Should you fancy a night or two on the lake, the resort has two of its own fully equipped houseboats. Day 08: Kumarakom - Cochin - Bangalore
Transfer to Cochin airport (3-hours) for your flight to Bangalore. Transfer to your hotel for check-in and balance of day at leisure.
Day 09: Bangalore
Half-day city tour of Bangalore City. Visit the Palace of Tippu Sultan (once home to the south Indian king famous for battling the British), the Bull Temple, the Indian Institute of Science and the 240-acre/100-hectare Lal Bagh botanical garden, with its pools, terraces, fountains, trees and herbs. Enjoy the balance of your day at leisure.
Day 10: Bangalore - Mysore
Morning drive from Bangalore to Mysore en route visiting Sriranga Pattanam. Upon arrival in Mysore, transfer to the hotel for check-in and balance of day at leisure. Mysore. In the hill country of southwestern India, this region is cooler than the coastal cities - one of the reasons so many maharajahs chose to live there.
Day 11: Mysore
Half-day city tour of Mysore City. Visit Nandi Bull, carved from solid stone, and a 2,000-year-old Hindu temple. This evening you will visit Brindavan Garden.
Day 12: Mysore - Bangalore - Chennai
Enjoy the morning at leisure. Afternoon transfer to Mysore Railway Station for the Shatabdi Express train to Chennai. You are met in Chennai for private transfer to your hotel for check-in and overnight.
Day 13: Chennai - Depart
Transfer to the Mumbai airport for your departing flight.
