Travel to Gujarat Gir National Park Tours - perhaps the last sanctuary for the endangered Asiatic Lion.

Located in Junagadh, Gujarat Gir National Park Tours is spread on an area of 1150 square kilometers. Cloaked with deciduous forests, jamun, tendu, acacia and dhak trees, Gir or Sasangir Wildlife offers the perfect habitat for several animals apart from the lion. Gir acquired the status of a national park in the year 1965. Today there are more then 300 lions at Wildife in Gir National Park .

An important thing to remember is that one must secure entry permits before setting out on wildlife safaris to the core area of Gir from the local forest office. In fact most tourists are allowed to enjoy safaris in the buffer zone of this large national park.

Large stretches of grasslands interspersed with thick forest clusters make Gir the perfect place for the Asiatic Lion to thrive. Besides the king of the jungle you'll come across a large number of other animals and birds that inhabit the forests of Gir.
