Tour Packages to Manas Wildlife Sanctuary India - Manas Tiger Reserve is situated amidst the gentle slant at the foothills of the Himalayas in India. It lies in the northeastern state of Assam. Manas gets its name from the Goddess Manasa.
The forests of Manas extend from Indian terrains to the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan, with the waters of the Manas River demarcating the international border.
This river often floods some areas. The water level settles as soon as the rainfall stops because of the sloping. Mixed deciduous form of vegetation is found in the park. The dense forest cover often prevents the sunrays from reaching the forest floors.

Wildlife Sanctuary of Manas was formerly known as North Kamrup and was declared a sanctuary on October 1, 1928. It was recognized as the center of the Manas Tiger Reserve and successively appeared on the World Heritage List in 1985 and elevated to the position of a National Park position in 1990.

Manas is a very unique region, for it harbors twenty species of birds and animals that are greatly endangered. Among the greatly endangered species are the Red Pandas, which are seldom on higher elevations. Originally the park was a wildlife sanctuary but in 1990 it was declared a national park.

Hispid Hare, Pigmy Hog and Golden Langur are some of the rare sort of animals to be found in the park apart from Tigers, Elephants, Rhinoceros, Wild Buffalo, Wild Boar, Sambhar, Swamp Deer, and Hog Deer, which are easily spotted at this park.

Migratory Birds of Wildlife Sanctuary of Manas, Manas is full of Migratory birds in winters like Riverchats, Forktails, Cormorants and Ducks, like the Ruddy Shell-Duck. There are usual woodland birds like the Indian Hornbill and Pied Hornbill also found here.

Butterflies and reptiles are also found in abundance at Manas. In the river water, you can one boating and fishing as well.

Rest of the year it is off-season for the park. Avoid monsoons as many parts of the park are flooded and animals are not easy to catch a glimpse of.

The best season to visit Kaziranga is the winter, like from November to April. The weather's hot and humid the rest of the year. In the monsoons there's heavy rainfall and the park often gets flooded.
